The record attendance was set in a friendly match against Blackburn Rovers on 15 November 1954 with 17,634 spectators in attendance. The record for a league match occurred against York City on 11 April 1955 with 15,425 spectators.

The stadium was built in 1886 as the home of Manningham Rugby Football Club; it remained so until 1903, when the club changed code from rugby league to association football, and became Bradford City A.F.C.. Valley Parade has since been Bradford City's home ground, and is now owned by the pension fund of the club's former chairman Gordon Gibb. The stadium has also hosted Bradford (Park Avenue) for one season and the rugby-league side Bradford Bulls for two seasons, and has accommodated a number of England youth team fixtures. In 1908, the football architect Archibald Leitch was commissioned to redevelop the ground when Bradford City were promoted to the First Division.

Boothferry Park was a football stadium in Kingston upon HullEast Riding of YorkshireEngland, which was the home of Hull City from 1946 until 2002. The ground's capacity varied throughout its history, but stood at 15,160 at the time of its closure.

The Tigers moved into the newly built KC Stadium in the middle of the 2002–03 season. Following this, Boothferry Park was occupied solely by supermarkets Iceland and Kwik Save, both of whom had opened stores inside the ground's structure in the 1990s when the football club was struggling financially. The first parts of the stadium were demolished in early 2008, more than five years after the last professional game was played there. The demolition was completed in 2011, with residential housing now standing on the site of the old ground.
